About us

Dar Al-Fonoun

Center and Theater

A Palestinian non-profit institution established in 2003, dedicated to supporting and developing artistic creativity in the West Bank and fostering cultural exchange both regionally and internationally. Our work focuses on producing and directing diverse dance and movement theatrical arts in the Arab region, cultivating visual arts within Palestinian camps and marginalized areas, and pioneering technology-integrated visual arts, short films, and feature films.
We distinguish ourselves through our belief in culture's pivotal role in developing civil society, ensuring cultural accessibility for all, and defending artists' rights to freedom of expression and engagement with both Arab and international art scenes.
Dar Al-Fonoun Wa Al- Turath Center and Theater pursues its mission of nurturing artists and promoting new visions through annual programs and artistic productions. Our services include supporting independent artists, educating new demographics, promoting artistic works, implementing capacity-building programs to develop the artistic landscape, providing indirect education within Palestinian territories, conducting research in drama and movement and their cultural and societal significance, supporting artists, and sustaining cultural industries without compromising culture's value as a public interest and fundamental human right.
The center is led by a dynamic team with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and skills, operating as a public non-profit institution comprising leaders and staff from the Northern West Bank and a seven-member artistic council. Our work is characterized by deep knowledge of artistic life and context within Palestine, institutional integrity and expertise, commitment to viewing culture as a public right and interest, and reflecting diversity and gender balance through representation in beneficiaries, staff, and management.
